denki anma

In Japanese, denki-anma 電気あんま, meaning "electric massage," typically refers to grabbing someone by their legs and (violently) massaging their crotch with your foot, which, in anime, is typically done to physically punish a character.

It's also spelled 電気アンマ.

Definition

The term anma 按摩 refers to traditional Japanese "massage." Originally, denki-anma meant an "electric massager."

The act can be used as a suru-verb, and used with kakeru かける, like any wresting technique.

Note, however, that professional wrestling forbids attacks that "target testicles," kin-teki 金的.

Although the typical example found in anime is a girl doing it on a guy, the gender obviously doesn't matter.

The denki-anma is the signature technique of Tsukuda Tsukune 佃つくね, from Gu-Gu Ganmo Gu－Ｇｕガンモ, who uses it several times through the series.

• Context: Tsukune gives her younger brother, Hanpeita, a weird egg she found to make up for losing his pet bird. Hanpeita doesn't want the egg, enraging Tsukune, who attacks him for not appreciating her sisterly love.

It's signature enough to get parodied in other series.
